Preston is a vacationer’s dream. There’s always something to do.
Winter brings the best snow and the most beautiful winter scenery.
Snowmobiling and cross country skiing is great. You can travel down Mink Creek,
Cub River, and even Logan Canyon and see the most beautiful winter wonderland ever,
ending up at Bloomington or Bear Lake.
Spring brings golfing at our 18-hole course,
floating and kayaking down the beautiful Bear River,
as well as fishing, boating, water-skiing or just camping at our 10 reservoirs.
There are three swimming resorts close by and also a new swimming pool in town.
Oneida Narrows Reservoir – 15 miles NE of Preston on SH 36 – wetland & juniper;
Trumpeter Swan in winter, Wild Turkey, Eagle, Osprey
Glendale Reservoir – 3 miles NE of Preston on Hwy 36 – Camping, Restrooms
Downata – 3 1/2 miles SE of Downey on Hwy 91 – Pelicans, ponds & wetland
Swan Lake Marsh – 17 miles NW of Preston on SH 91 – wetlands
Oxford Slough Area – 1 mile N of Oxford on County Rd D-1 – wetland
Twin Lakes – 4 miles W SH 91 Twin Lakes Rd – wetlands; Loons in spring
Weston Reservoir – 13 miles E of I-15 Weston Exit SH 36 – farmland
Hot Springs
Maple Grove Hot Springs: provides natural hot spring therapy pools, patron kitchen, gift shop and camping fronting the Oneida Narrows Reservoir.
Riverdale Resort: Swimming pools, therapy pools and water slides as well as snack bar, bed and breakfast hotel rooms and RV sites are among the amenities here.
